The\u00a0<a class=\"external-link\" title=\"http:\/\/www.tacoma.washington.edu\/library\/ Cmd+Click or tap to follow the link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tacoma.uw.edu\/library\/library\">University of Washington Tacoma<\/a> is an urban campus that is changing the face of its region architecturally, culturally, and economically.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining the University of Washington Libraries, Lauren was Director of\u00a0Learning Environments for Virginia Tech University Libraries and held a number of roles related to instruction and technology at Wake Forest University&#8217;s Z. Smith Reynolds Library.<\/p>\n<p>Lauren regularly\u00a0publishes and presents on\u00a0formal and informal learning, the evolving information environment, and the future of libraries. She also has worked closely on issues related evolving pedagogical models,\u00a0integrating the library into formal and informal learning,\u00a0incorporating design principles into library spaces and services, and\u00a0organizational change. She has served in several positions within the\u00a0<a title=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/ Cmd+Click or tap to follow the link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/\">American Library Association<\/a> (ALA), the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/lita\/\">Library Information Technology<b> <\/b>Association <\/a>(LITA),\u00a0the<b> <\/b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/acrl\/\">Association of College and Research Libraries<\/a> (ACRL), the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmc.org\/nmc-horizon\/\">Horizon Project<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.librarypipeline.org\/\">Library Pipeline<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Lauren has been recognized with an\u00a0Distinguished Alumni Early Career Award from the\u00a0UNC-Greensboro, School of Education, as a <i>Library Journal<\/i> Mover and Shaker, and as\u00a0an ALA Emerging Leader. She\u00a0holds Bachelor of Arts degrees\u00a0from North Carolina State University\u00a0in Small Group and Interpersonal\u00a0Communication and\u00a0Philosophy and\u00a0a Master of Library and Information Studies degree from\u00a0UNC-Greensboro.
