Online Services Worth a Little Cash

Readability has been getting a lot of good press in the past day or so. I like neat ideas, reading, and supporting writers, so I thought I’d give it a try. However, when I went to register, you’re only presented with a paid account option. I was hoping for a free version to try for a week or so before deciding. (Luckily, you can sample an aspect of the service for free for a long time.)

Anyway, it got me thinking about services that I feel are worth paying for. There are several with monthly or annual fees that I easily pay for. Mine are:

I go back and forth on Remember The Milk, and I am thinking about paying for the archiving feature in Pinboard and as well. There are two other podcasts, This American Life and the Interdependence Project, that I regularly consider making monthly donations to as well. Looking at this list, basically it illustrates the services that mean a lot to me, both in terms of productivity but also in quality of life.

What services do you regularly feel compelled to pay for or donate to? And if you’re a Readability user, should I go ahead and make the jump for that as well?
