Tuesday was my last day of the conference. The Committee on the Status of Women in Librarianship meets that day in case there are any motions or presentations to council to prepare. As it turns out, we did have one. The Caregiving Taskforce faced a few issues, so the chair went before Council to let them know we would look back into the issue. We also talked more about our partnership with the National Women’s History Museum and how we could support each other. For example, NWHM could provide resources for School and Public libraries for National Women’s History Month, and in turn, the libraries could provide information about the museum. We talked more about virtula participation and how to create a structure to allow more continuity in the work of the committee.
But the most exciting Midwinter news came as I was sitting at the airport. The Taskforce on Electronic Member Participation had several motions on the floor, and from what I can tell it looks like most everything passed. This was especially sweet news after a conference that had a few shining examples of how people could participate virtual (in Top Tech Trends and the LITA Town Hall). It was a great way to end the conference
