So this afternoon went quickly, and without much access to power outlets and chances to sit down, so here’s the summary:
I ran from the DLIG program to the LITA board to tell them about my experience as their Emerging Leader. My three (fast) points were the EL program has promise, but is still new enough to have some glitches, a LITA program could provide extra meaning to the experience, and the sponsorship made my decision about where to put my energy in ALA.
After that I grabbed a fast lunch with a library school friend, Karen Long. It was nice to catch up!
Then on to the BIGWIG Social Software Showcase.
It was very crowded, but good people and good content. I am really into video (as you might have guessed by now) and got to talk with Jason Griffey about it. We’re also about to get LibGuides, so it was good to hear what Cindi Trainor had to say on the topic.
I had to leave early, though, to give my poster for the ULG folks.
It was really nice to have the opportunity to share my training system with some folks. I’m hoping others found it useful and will consider doing it at their institutions!
Now off to dinner, a reception for the ELs, and maybe the Facebook social, if I can stay up that late!!
