  • The curse of knowledge: once you know something it’s impossible to imagine not knowing about it.
  • Secret to success: simple, unexpected, concrete, credible, emotional, stories. These make your ideas more sticky.
  • Decision paralysis is when there are so many choices you can’t decide.
  • Gap theory of curiosity: if there is gap in knowledge, they’ll be driven to fill it.

I was really impressed with this presentation and the way Samantha used a case study throughout her talk. Good material, and I’m looking forward to reading the book!

Update: I saved too early!! To make an idea stick it must make people: pay attention, understand and remember, agree/believe, care, be able to act. The biggest thing we have to be aware of (as librarians) beware the curse of knowledge!
