LITA IG/Committee Chairs

Saturday morning kicked off with a LITA Interest Group/Committee Chair meeting. This meeting is basically just a time to update chairs on their responsibilities and timelines and we also talked a little about things that could be done to make chairing less complicated.

Basically chairing comes down to reporting who is there and what the committee does. Though, of course, chairing also has a lot to do with enabling the interest group or committee to do whatever it is that it does.

We also had a small discussion on ways to create opportunities for people in interest groups and committees to develop their leadership roles.

LITA’s also looking at doing some online education, which I believe is an exciting possibility.

The next meeting was the IG Chairs meeting, where we discussed a lot of the finer details of being an IG chair, and talked about issues associated with programming.
