writing & time

This month is National Novel Writing Month and National Blog Post Month. I started out trying to do both, but I am much closer to accomplishing National Novel Writing Month, so for the next 10 days you’ll probably see very little of me here. I still have 20,000 words to go.

The whole idea behind nanowrimo is to try to write a 50,000 word novel during the month of November. I have really enjoyed participating in nanowrimo, in large part because it helps me understand the process of writing, it is teaching me to carve out time each day for writing, and it shows me that 50,000 words really is not all that much. (Which is good, I have another big writing project coming up.) I also suspect it’s going to teach me to read a little bit differently, too.

So anyway, it’s an interesting project, even if it is dragging me away from the blogosphere for a little while.
