The Best Video I’ve Seen on YouTube

I know it’s been mentioned everywhere lately, but I wanted to put it here in case you’ve missed it:

Okay, I know I’m geeky, but this video gives me chills. Amazing.

I love that it points out some of the techy things you need to know to fully understand Web 2.0. I love that it makes it more about communication than technology.

I thought about showing it in my Web 2.0 class I teach as part of an information literacy course. I think that some of the power is lost if you don’t know about internet archive, html, xml, etc. But maybe I’m wrong. Maybe I’ll show it then get feedback from the students about what they’re familiar with and know.

And maybe, I can even get then discussing a few of the questions raised at the end of the video:
How do we need to rethink copyright? Authorship? Identity? Ethics? Aesthetics? Rhetorics? Governance? Privacy? Commerce? Love? Family? Ourselves? Because really, to me, this is all part of information literacy today. Great stuff!
