Today I learned about a really neat podcast on the History of Information. The podcasts are really lectures from a course at UC Berkeley. The accompanying website includes reading assignments, slides, handouts, and links to the podcasts. It’s all from their iSchool.
What a great way to share information, and what a great department to be be testing these waters! I doubt that folks would be interested in some of the drier topics that are covered in basic undergraduate information literacy classes, but issues such as privacy in a Google age, the emerging (emerged?) read/write web, and other special topics classes might be interesting enough to get some listeners. And if these listeners learn something new, or decide to enroll in the class, then it’d be worth it.
