25 new technologies in 50 minutes

I work late nights on Tuesdays, so I get to come in late in the morning. This morning I spent some time watching a SirsiDynix webcast from Stephen Abram, Vice President Innovation for SirsiDynix.

Most of it is review for folks who are the least bit interested in web 2.0 technologies, but it was still an interesting presention. There were three sites he mentioned that I was particularly interested in following up on:

For searching for pictures: Retrievr
This site allows you to sketch a picture, then it returns photos from Flickr that look like your sketch.

For searching for songs: Singing Fish
Singing Fish allows you to search for songs.

For searching for TV: Blinkx
Blinkx is a way to search for television.

I really like this. I think it will become more and more important to work on search for non-text mediums as people create more and more non-text works. These are three good sites to check out!

I’ll post the link to his blog post on the presentation as soon as it’s up.

Update: Here is the blog post with links!
