every book its reader

On the way in to work today I listened to the Diane Rehm show on NPR. She was interviewing Nicholas A. Basbanes about his new book, Every Book It’s Reader. It was pretty amazing to listen to some of the people who called in about the impact books and reading have had on their lives. Basbanes also talked about libraries, too. If you want to listen, you can with Real Player or Windows Media Player.

I also heard and enjoyed the Basbanes talk. I remember when his earlier book- A Gentle Madness-was published, my supervisor at the time felt the book was dangerous!

Imagine that! Gentle Madness mentioned several norious library thieves-and that nfo out there might be bad for library security or something..not sure.

    anyway- great site!
