Today was the last day for me at midwinter.
I got up bright and early and rode into the convention center area. I found the Women’s Studies Section meeting room, and got ready for the discussion: “You Mean I Can Use a ‘zine in a Research Paper?” The group talked about non traditional media in research (such as del.icio.us, wikis, blogs, and ‘zines). Again, I took pages of notes on the topics which ranged from collection development to instruction techniques and I’m going to write up the session for the WSS Newsletter.
After that I went to the bookstore to buy Migrations in Society, Culture, and the Library (I think this will probably useful for some independent work I’m doing on culture, technology, and information literacy) and Susan’s book, Web-Based Instruction: A Guide for Libraries.
Then, I ran into Sarah again! We went to the Emerging Technologies Interest Group where they were planning their Annual program. Then we went to lunch which was a nice way to end the day at the convention center.
I came home with grand plans to work on the LITA blog post, but really I just fell asleep. It’s been a busy few days! When I woke up I quickly finished the posts and went for one last tea and walk on the Riverwalk.
Mary and I went out for a nice dinner. We actually found a place with a Vegan entree (that didn’t require any special instructions)! It was a nice change of pace from my lattes and Luna Bars.
Tomorrow the shuttle is picking me up at 10:04am and I’ll be getting in around 7:00. I’ll be seeing some of you soon!
