Experience

Lauren has built a career focused on creating strong and collaborative organizational cultures and fostering organizational change. She has experience introducing new services to her campus from her work in library instruction and emerging technology. She has experience building teams, establishing communication practices, and designing mechanisms for feedback in her work leading a team after a large reorganization. As director of a library on a rapidly growing campus, she is working to evolve her local community’s understanding of what academic libraries are and to position the library to be ready for future demands. She does this work through collaborative and consensus-driven leadership, creation of and execution on a shared organizational vision, and constant advocacy through relationship building and effective communication. Externally, Lauren has presented a number of invited keynotes, most recently focused on organizational change. She has been involved in professional service in a number of ways, including three terms as an ALA Councilor-at-Large and as a Director-at-Large on the LITA Executive Committee.
